What to see and do in Bansko
Church “St. Trinity”
The church is located in the old town of Bansko and has been declared a cultural monument. Its construction began in 1835. and was completed in 1837. In 1850, a large stone belfry was built in the churchyard, which also served as a clock tower.

Spiritual and Historical Center “St. Paisius Hilendarski”
The museum is located in a place which, according to historical sources, is the birthplace of the first writer of the Bulgarian revival. The building is a replica of the cell in the Hilendar Monastery (Aton, Greece), where Paisii Hilendarski began to write the first Bulgarian history, also known as “Slavic Bulgarian History”.

Velyanova House has been declared a national cultural heritage. It was built in the 18th century and is one of the oldest fortress houses with thick stone walls, underground hiding places, internal and external towers, and small windows with iron fences.

House-museum of Neofit Rilski
The house in which the figure of the Bulgarian revival Neofit Rilski was born is today a cultural heritage of national importance. It is a typical house in the traditional architectural style of Bansko from the 18th century. It is built almost entirely of stone and wood, with courtyards surrounded by high walls and a solid entrance gate.

House-museum of Nikola Vaptsarov
The home where the great Bulgarian poet and son of Bansko grew up was opened to visitors in 1952. Visitors can learn more about the poet and his work through a selection of videos.

Baikusheva mura
Baikush mura is an important specimen of the black mura species. It is named after the forester Konstantin Baikushev, who discovered this specimen in 1897. It is located in the Pirin mountain at 1930m above sea level and is near the Vihren hut. Its age is estimated to be over 1,300 years old, making it the oldest tree in the country and one of the oldest trees in the world.
Whirlwind Hut
Vihren Hut is located at an altitude of 1950 m above sea level and is the starting point for hikes to all Banderishka lakes: Zabeshko Lake, Long Lake, Rybno Lake, Muratovo Lake and Okoto.
Around Bansko
Mineral pools
The village of Banya, which is located only 6 km from Bansko, is famous for its numerous mineral pools with temperatures from 37C to 57C. You can enjoy amazing views of Pirin, Rila and the Rhodopes.
The town of Dobrinishte is located 6 km south of Bansko at the foot of the Rila, Pirin and Rhodope Mountains. There are 17 mineral pools in the city with a temperature of 30C to 43C. In the center of the town, there is a Public Bath which is open to visitors.
Bear Park, Belitsa
The bear park is located in Rila mountain, 33 km from Bansko. The area is covered with natural forests and water areas. Here you can see bears living in a natural environment. On the way back, you can take a tour through Rila Fun Park, a mountain amusement park, or indulge in some relaxing fishing.
